ADAM COLLINGS MORMON FAMILY HOMESTEAD
Constructed in 1864, this was the first home built at Fort Alma (today's
Monroe) in what was then Utah Territory.
I purchased the building thirty years ago to protect and preserve it.
Built by my great great grandfather (who walked to Utah with his family
in the ill-fated Martin Handcart Company), it remains today a treasured
heirloom not only for the Collings Family but for all those who recognize
the importance of preserving and passing down to future generations
as much as we can of our shared American heritage.
